Three Rivers District Council Transport and Parking Team are conducting a formal consultation into proposed alterations to the existing parking restrictions outside the row of shops on School Mead, Abbots Langley.
It is proposed to modify the existing Limited Waiting restrictions within the on-street parking bays on the western side of School Mead to a “Monday-Saturday, 8am-6:30pm, 2 Hours, No Return within 2 Hours” restriction. This increases the permitted waiting time allowed by one hour. Additionally, the disabled badge holder bays will be relocated to be closer to the shops. It is also proposed to implement Limited Waiting restrictions (Monday-Saturday, 8am-6:30pm, 2 Hours, No Return within 2 Hours) within the newly configured and currently unrestricted parking bays on the western side of School Mead, immediately south of the junction with Hazelwood Lane.
These measures are being proposed for the following reasons:
For preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.
To ensure Disabled Badge Holders are able to park as close to the row of shops as possible.
To ensure that the Limited Waiting timed restrictions are consistent with those being introduced in the new off-street parking bays on School Mead.
This scheme is being developed concurrently with the School Mead Off-Street proposal
To view the Notice of Proposal, Statement of Reasons, Draft Traffic Regulation Order and the proposed plans please see the documents section on this page.
