The council has undertaken a review of all discretionary licensing fees and charges. Due to cost pressures, all discretionary licensing fees and charges are proposed to be increased, except for all fees relating to driver licences (Hackney Carriage, Private Hire and Dual drivers).
The affected fees include vehicle licences, taxi operator licences, scrap metal, sexual entertainment and street trading consent applications.
As a result of the changes proposed the council is interested in seeking your views on the revised fees via a public consultation.
The proposed fees can be viewed under the 'Documents' section on this project page.
Subject to comments received and their review, all fees will come into effect from 1 April 2026.
For more information on why the changes were made, please view the relevant Committee report under the 'Important Links' section on the right hand side of this project page.
