Background
Last year Three Rivers District Council completed the refurbishment of Denham Way Playing Fields as it used to have tennis courts, a small play area and a pavilion, all of which had seen better days.
It used to look like this:
We held a consultation, asking you what type of leisure equipment you wanted to see in Denham Way Playing Fields.
Three Rivers District Council worked with the Get Set4 Tennis club on their club’s needs and designs for tennis facilities as well as a refurbishment of the pavilion to include more community use. The council also worked with Maple Cross JMI pupils to include their thoughts. The children had a great time in the mud, making a giant bug hotel, a reptile bank hidden in the grounds and bird boxes around the playing fields, talking about how nature is important to us all in our parks and open spaces.
Three Rivers District Council listened to all the comments, looked at the details of the local demographics, other facilities locally and worked with outdoor leisure equipment designers to produce outdoor leisure equipment, a pavilion refurbishment, new tennis courts, a new outdoor gym, a multi-use games area with a skate park, a new play area, bug hotels and pathways across the site to make it more accessible throughout the year.
Consultation
Now one year on, Three Rivers District Council would really like to hear what impact the new outdoor leisure facilities have had, and how they have helped you to enjoy Denham Way Playing Fields. We hope you are able to take part in a short survey to tell us what you think of the refurbishment and help the council to continue improving outdoor leisure facilities across the district.
Your views really do count, so please take a moment to complete the short survey and continue to support enhancements for both residents and nature, across Three Rivers.
